Ostad Habibollah Mohammadi, the younger son of the late Daf maker Mohammad Mohammadi was born 1963. He asked his father, if he can instill making Daf into him.  So he began to make the Daf, as he was only 15 years old.

The father of Habibollah made the Khaneghahi Dafs containing a double layer frame, which Habibollah call Do-Kamaane (double framed). This type Dafs in the case of existence are at least 20 years old.

Habibollah told Pooyan "the author of this lines", that his father stopped making Daf after he began making Daf, which meets 1978.

Most of old Khaneghahi Dafs made in Sanandaj before 1978 have been made by Habibollah's father and the after 1978 by himself. One sample of this type Dafs was dedicated to Peyman Nasehpour through Jamshid Andalibi. The sound of this Daf kindled Pooyan's interest to reproduce these Type Dafs for the fanciers.

In order to produce perfect instruments Pooyan cared about very especial skins (Santoori Daf skins) and on 20. November 2011 Pooyan traveled to Kurdistan and handed over this skins to Ostad Habibollah.

The upcoming Dafs will have the dimensions of old Khaneghahi Daf but they are made by one piece wood (one layer). The width is around 6,5 cm, the diameter is 55 cm. 

Now the special Santoori selected skins for providing Khaneghahi Dafs (Original Sufi Daf instruments) stood up the travel from Germany to Kurdistan. The Sufi Daf style in the original form has been unfortunately forgotten. Through getting popular the original shape of Sufi (Khaneghahi) Daf has changed in matter of thickness and width of frame. The new Dafs which are common today are thinner in frame and width only because of getting lighter for being played by women and men for longer time.
